Welcome to the May/June issue of CHANGE. May and June are special months because it is during these months that we celebrate two very significant holidays—Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. It is a time that we dedicate to expressing our love and appreciation for our mothers and fathers. With such a focus on two very significant family relationships, this month’s issue of CHANGE is all about relationships.
As I continue to receive revelation of God’s grace, the more it affects every aspect of my life, especially relationships. From parenting to marriage, grace is the key to getting positive results in our relationships with others. God’s grace is His unmerited favor and ability to do what you cannot do in your own ability. The tendency to get into self-effort is something that we all must push back against, especially when we understand about Jesus’ finished works. Self-effort is all about trying to qualify for something, while grace is all about receiving what has already been done by God. In Christ, healthy, thriving relationships are a finished work! God saw your marriage, children, and friendships as completely whole and healthy before the foundation of the world. Your job is to simply rest in that knowledge and trust in His Word, which, when applied to your relationships and acted upon, always produces positive results.
This issue of CHANGE contains some amazing articles that are sure to bless you and equip you in some key areas. In my article, “Grace-based Parenting,” I discuss the importance of trusting God with the lives of your children. Taffi’s article on marriage provides practical tools to equip you with knowledge on how to have a thriving marriage. I also talk to dads in my Father’s Day feature as well. And of course, the glue that holds everything together is the grace of God, which you can receive more understanding about in our new column, entitled “It’s All About Grace.”
The goal of CHANGE is to strengthen your faith and provide you with spiritual resources, wisdom, and knowledge to improve your quality of life. These articles are written with you in mind, and our prayer is that they will bless you tremendously as you apply the things you read and learn.
Taffi and I pray for God’s favor and blessings upon your life as you continue to receive His grace on a daily basis. We also pray that all of your relationships will thrive and grow into grace-based relationships. We declare that any areas of brokenness will be repaired and restored, in the name of Jesus. We love hearing your testimonies and would like to hear about what God is doing for you, and how His grace is making a mark in your life that cannot be erased. Feel free to send us your feedback and testimonies about how the Word of God is impacting you by e-mailing us at CHANGE@worldchangers.org.
