Changing seasons brings the hope of new opportunities and the sprouting of new life, particularly in the springtime. For Believers, it is a time when we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and think about the price He paid for us to receive forgiveness for our sins, for all eternity. What many refer to as “Easter” is actually a celebration of the wonderful gift of salvation that God has made available to us through our faith in Jesus Christ. Talk about celebrating new life!
The thought of what Jesus has done for us can really bring you to tears when you spend time thinking about it. He came to a sin-sick world and actually became sin for us so that we wouldn’t have to suffer the eternal penalty for sin. Not only that, but He also bore our sicknesses and diseases, as well as every other emotional, physical, and personal burden that a human being could possibly experience in this life. Though we may go through things, we can cast our cares on Jesus and trust that He has finished the work necessary to give us absolute victory in every circumstance and situation we may face. Our salvation not only includes our eternal life in heaven with Jesus and the Father, but it also includes peace, prosperity, and abundance on this earth. These are the things we should remind ourselves of as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.
This issue of CHANGE Magazine is chock-full of insightful articles that will help to build your faith and strengthen your relationship with God. Articles such as “Victory Over Sin Through Grace” and “You Qualify” will show you how to appropriate the benefits of God’s grace through faith and not self-effort. Taffi’s article will help you understand the power of words, and our Faith Speaks column provides you with some confessions that will help you frame your world with God’s Word. You also won’t want to miss our feature article and health column.
The grace of God is truly amazing. Part of really understanding the significance of Jesus’ resurrection is knowing that, through His sacrifice, a new covenant of grace has been cut, and in this covenant God promises to be faithful to us, even when we are not faithful to Him. The grace of God allows you to rest in the finished work of Christ by believing you’ve received what He has already done for you. This grace is drawing people all over the world to Jesus, and Taffi and I are excited about it! As you prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, allow two words to resonate in your mind and heart: great grace!
